The celebrated poet Asim Tanha, acclaimed for penning the anthem of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, tragically met his end in Punjab, allegedly shot during a personal feud stemming from a heated exchange.
Majid Khan, known as Asim Tanha, faced a fatal shooting by Samiullah following a heated argument in Punjab’s Bhakkar district’s Daili Namdar area.
In a grim turn of events, Tanha’s brother, Sajid, sought vengeance by allegedly shooting and killing Samiullah, further entangling the situation. The origins of the incident are rooted in a family dispute, resulting in the heartbreaking loss of both individuals.

Upon notification of the shooting, the police promptly arrived, cordoning off the area and filing an initial report on the tragic deaths. An investigation has been initiated to delve into the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities are actively pursuing Sajid, who purportedly fled the scene after the alleged act.
Asim Tanha, a versatile poet contributing in Urdu, Punjabi, and Siraiki languages, left an indelible mark with his composition of PTI’s renowned anthem, “Hum Koi Ghulam to Nahi.”
Beyond his musical contributions, Tanha authored a book titled ‘Hum Koi Ghulam to Nahi,’ showcasing a compilation of his poetic works and anthems, leaving behind a profound legacy in Pakistan’s artistic and political spheres.
