Professor Issues Apology for Instructing Evolution Theory

ISLAMABAD: A shocking twist of events unfolded. A biology professor publicly apologized for his teaching of Darwin’s theory of evolution. This incident shed light on the escalating extremism in the province. It also highlighted the suppression of freedom of expression and scientific concepts.

Assistant Professor Sher Ali issued his apology on a stamped document, emphasizing the increasing intolerance towards scientific and rational concepts.

 Evolution Theory

The controversy surrounding Professor Sher Ali arose when he arranged a seminar on women’s rights in Islam and the constitution in response to local protests against women not conforming to Islamic dress codes when leaving their homes.

However, religious circles and clerics opposed the seminar, accusing Professor Sher Ali of promoting ideas that departed from Islamic teachings.

In response to the criticisms, the professor had previously expressed frustration about being targeted for performing his duties and teaching Darwin’s theory of evolution.

He argued that his teaching materials aligned with the curriculum established by the education board, and if the scholars had any concerns, they should pursue legal action.

This incident has raised concerns about the restriction of intellectual discourse and the curbing of academic freedom in the region.
