Pakistan declared the second most expensive Country in South Asia

ISLAMABAD:  The Asian Development Bank (ADB) ranked Pakistan as the second-most expensive nation in South Asia.

In its outlook for 2022, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) projects that Pakistan’s inflation rate will continue to be high in the near future and that the value of the Pakistani rupee may decline even further. Pakistan’s inflation rate is 26.6%.

The rate of economic growth in South Asia has slowed down due to floods, and the floods in Pakistan and Bangladesh have impacted economic growth, according to the forecast.

Energy prices in Pakistan are also predicted to increase.

While Bangladesh’s inflation rate is 8.9 percent and India’s is 6.8 percent, Sri Lanka has been deemed the most expensive nation in the region with an inflation rate of 70.6%.

According to the report, the floods severely harmed Pakistan’s agriculture, particularly wheat and livestock, and significantly destroyed the country’s economy.
