Says requirement mandatory by CAA, passengers advised to get vaccination four weeks before departure.
ISLAMABAD: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has clarified that it is only authorised to issue polio vaccination certificates but holds no jurisdiction on immigration-related matters.
NADRA refutes media reports about new international travel restrictions, clarifying that it is the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) that has made it mandatory for the airlines to check polio vaccinations for passengers traveling abroad.
The federal body NADRA shared the CAA’s notification on Twitter to address the matter.
The notification urges passengers to receive polio vaccination drops at least four weeks prior to their departure. Airlines are instructed to inform passengers about this requirement during ticket issuance.
Passengers are also advised to obtain their polio vaccination certificates from their respective District Health Office in advance. The polio counter at the airport may not be able to accommodate last-minute requests for such certificates.
