NA approves resolution to table a reference in the house against chief justice Bandial

The National Assembly today passed a resolution to table a reference in the House against chief justice Bandial and other judges.

A parliamentary committee MNAs Mohsin Shahnawaz Ranjha, Salahuddin Ayubi and Khurshid Junejo will look into the matters pertaining to tabling a reference in the House against the CJP and some other judges. MNA Shazia Sobia presented the resolution in the House.

A majority of the MNAs in the National Assembly approved the resolution on Monday.

The National Assembly, nonetheless, did not mention any deadline given to the committee to submit reference in the House.

Maryam Nawaz, Fazlur Rehman to address sit-in participants

PML-N chief organizer Maryam Nawaz and PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman will address the participants of the sit-in outside the Supreme Court.

Other PDM leaders will also address the PDM supporters at the sit-in.

Earlier, the PDM started its sit-in outside the Supreme Court on Monday morning while ignoring the government’s request to shift the venue to D-Chowk.

JUI-F Ansarul-Islam ‘Danda Force’ will guard the sit-in in Islamabad

The Ansarul-Islam force of the JUI-F popularly known as ‘Danda Force’ will guard the sit-in of the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) outside the Supreme Court of Pakistan.

Hundreds of activists of Ansarul Islam have reached outside the Supreme Court carrying batons (dandas) and they are guarding the sit-in.

Meanwhile, JUI-F President and PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said that the sit-in will be held outside the Supreme Court.

He said, “We will start our protest around 1 pm today outside the apex court.”

Thousands of workers of the ruling PDM alliance have reached Islamabad today to participate in the sit-in.

PDM’s Container, Supporters Reach Islamabad

Ignoring the request of the federal government, the PDM leaders and protesters are gathering outside the Supreme Court of Pakistan to launch their sit-in today. Containers equipped with different facilities and decorated with PDM party flags are also parked outside the apex court.
