Meta Platforms has successfully resolved the WhatsApp connectivity issues reported by thousands of users globally on Wednesday. The outage tracking website Downdetector.com confirmed the restoration of service.
In a tweet, the WhatsApp Twitter account announced, “We’re back, happy chatting!” indicating that the messaging app was functioning normally again.
Earlier, Meta had acknowledged the disruptions, specifically related to “receiving incoming messages and message delivery,” as indicated on Meta’s status dashboard.
The outage had a significant impact, with over 37,000 incidents of users in the United States reporting issues with the messaging service, according to Downdetector. This platform collects status reports from various sources, including user-submitted errors.
In the United Kingdom, more than 177,000 users reported problems, and in India, nearly 15,000 users faced difficulties while using the messaging app.
