Revolution
QUETTA: Four days after concluding her protest camp in Islamabad, Dr. Mahrang Baloch, leader of the Baloch Yakjehti Committee, rallied thousands at Shahwani Stadium in Quetta, declaring the movement against enforced disappearances and operations as a pivotal revolution.
In a powerful address, she emphasized the historic moment, stating that the people of Balochistan had been resisting state injustices for 75 years. Addressing the government as “deaf and dumb,” Dr. Baloch affirmed the people’s courage against atrocities.
Praising the participants, particularly women, political workers, and students, she highlighted their unwavering support for the recovery of loved ones. Dr. Baloch criticized the government’s use of force against protestors, asserting that the movement would persist despite all challenges. She called on the people to continue the public movement, characterizing it as the voice of Balochistan from Nokundi to Parom and Koh-i-Suleman to Makran.
The movement, initiated in Turbat after the alleged extrajudicial killing of Balach Maula Bakhsh, has evolved into a symbol of resistance for all oppressed Baloch people. Dr. Baloch stressed that the gathering embodied the fragrance of the revolution, a dream envisioned by martyrs.
She challenged the rulers in Islamabad, asserting they could not deliver justice to the Baloch people. Despite elders’ pleas for loved ones to face courts during the Islamabad protest, Dr. Baloch claimed that the Constitution of Pakistan failed to provide justice.
The event, attended by Mama Qadeer Baloch and other activists, carried the spirit of the revolution and continued for several hours. Dr. Baloch vowed to defend Balochistan’s survival, underscoring the movement’s ideological roots and its liberation from decades-old state-induced fear. The gathering marked a historic moment in the ongoing struggle for justice and human rights in Balochistan.
