Lahore School Teacher Suffers Acid Attack

LAHORE: In a disturbing incident, a female school teacher in Lahore became the victim of an acid attack on Monday. According to the details, two assailants riding a motorbike threw acid on Ayesha, the teacher, in the Shahdara area, and swiftly fled the scene. The injured school teacher was promptly taken to the hospital due to facial burns sustained in the attack.

This unfortunate event follows a similar incident in January 2023, where a seven-year-old boy suffered burns in an acid attack by his classmate at a government school in Sukkur.

The young victim, identified as Matiullah, endured burn injuries on his face, legs, and other body parts when his classmate, Hasnain, a second-grade student, threw acid on him within the school premises.

In the aftermath of the Sukkur incident, the victim’s father demanded legal action against the school administration, accusing them of showing indifference to the incident.

These acid attacks underscore the urgent need for stringent measures to address such heinous crimes and ensure the safety and security of individuals within educational institutions and society at large.

The sources further indicated that the abducted individuals hailed from various areas, including Nowshera, Charsadda, Khyber, Kirk, and others.

Notably, in the previous year, an incident occurred in the Shin Warsak area of South Waziristan where unidentified individuals shot and killed five laborers.

The police officials reported that the victims, all belonging to the local tribe, were working on the construction of a police post and were asleep in their camp when assailants opened fire, resulting in their immediate deaths.
