Palestine Marches
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has announced a series of large-scale “Palestine Marches” as part of its nationwide campaign to demonstrate solidarity with the people of Gaza and protest against Israel’s ongoing military actions.
The party revealed plans for two key marches—one scheduled in Multan on April 18, followed by another in Islamabad on April 20. These announcements were made during a massive Gaza March held on Lahore’s historic Mall Road, where thousands of participants gathered in response to the call from JI Ameer Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman.
The rally in Lahore drew large crowds, with citizens arriving in caravans to join the protest. Speaking at the event, Hafiz Naeem ur Rehman delivered a fiery speech, declaring that the Pakistani nation “stands against Israeli agents and American stooges.” He emphasized that the upcoming marches would be monumental, both in their turnout and their political impact.
He also strongly criticized the Pakistani government, urging leaders to take a clear and public stance against normalization with Israel. “Reveal the names of those who supported ties with Israel, including officials and journalists sent there,” he demanded.
He warned that if the government ever attempted to recognize Israel, the people would respond with intense backlash. “Israel is killing our children, dropping bombs on innocent civilians. The Muslim Ummah will avenge every drop of blood,” he added passionately.
Hafiz Naeem also condemned Israel’s military tactics, asserting that it targets defenseless civilians—particularly children, women, and journalists—through airstrikes, while its ground forces face fierce resistance. “Israel cannot withstand the courage of the Mujahideen,” he claimed.
In a pointed criticism of Pakistan’s political silence, he asked, “Why do our rulers and opposition leaders remain quiet? Why don’t they speak out against the U.S., which openly supports these atrocities?”
He reaffirmed JI’s unwavering stance: “We will never recognize Israel. There is only one true state — Palestine. Masjid Al-Aqsa is not just a place; it is part of our faith and identity.”
He also criticized the global silence on the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, questioning where international human rights organizations were during the ongoing blockade and bombings.
Hafiz Naeem further announced that JI would consider calling for a nationwide strike and engage with business communities to express collective opposition to the actions of the U.S. and Israel. In a message directed at regional powers like Egypt, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia, he urged them to stand firmly with the Palestinians.
He concluded by hailing Hamas as a symbol of resistance and called for Pakistan to formally recognize Hamas and establish its representative office in the country.
