It will be used for internal communication between IT ministry, NITB in first phase
ISLAMABAD: The government has recently introduced Beep Pakistan, a messaging app designed as a domestic alternative to WhatsApp.
Today, Federal Minister for Information Technology (IT), Syed Amin Ul Haque, launched the Beep Pakistan app. He announced that the first phase would involve using the app for internal communication between the IT ministry and NITB (National Information Technology Board).
In the subsequent phases, the government plans to extend the app’s usage to all government departments and eventually make it available to the masses across Pakistan.
The minister highlighted the various features of Beep Pakistan, which encompass data sharing, audio calling, video calling, and conference calling.
Additionally, he assured that the app is entirely secure and safe, as its server and source code are located within Pakistan.
Haque emphasized that the launch of Beep Pakistan marks a significant milestone for Pakistan’s IT industry.
Furthermore, the minister proudly announced that within the past 3.5 years, the ministry has successfully launched 83 new projects, requiring an investment of Rs77 billion.
He also highlighted the ministry’s commitment to digital education, as they have imparted valuable digital skills to more than 3.3 million children.
Additionally, the ministry’s efforts have led to the establishment of three new National Incubation Centers (NIC) during their tenure.
