Imran Khan Writes Urgent Letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan, Highlighting Seven Pressing Issues

ISLAMABAD: Imprisoned Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has penned a letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa, highlighting seven pressing issues that demand urgent attention.

In his letter, Imran Khan urges the chief justice to address several critical matters, including the National Accountability Bureau’s (NAB) exoneration of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Toshakhana case, the Bahawalnagar incident, action against a letter allegedly written by six judges, an independent investigation into the events of May 9, scrutiny of the Commissioner Rawalpindi’s statement, petitions concerning rigging in the February 8 elections, and an inquiry into the allocation of reserved seats.

Emphasizing the gravity of these issues, Imran Khan warns that failure to act will deepen the constitutional crisis already confronting the nation, pushing it further towards chaos. He invokes the words of Albert Einstein to underscore the importance of taking a stand against injustice and wrongdoing.

Imran Khan has expressed concern over the erosion of the rule of law and the supremacy of the Constitution during CJP Isa’s tenure. He is lamenting the rise of lawlessness and the perception that might trumps right. He is imploring the judiciary, with CJP Isa at its helm, to intervene decisively as the guardian of the Constitution and the ultimate dispenser of justice.

While some of the issues raised are already subjects of pending petitions in the Supreme Court, others require immediate action from the judiciary. Imran Khan reminds CJP Isa of his previous assertion of the Constitution as the judiciary’s guiding light and urges him to uphold this principle in the face of adversity.

Imran Khan calls upon CJP Isa to demonstrate whether his commitment to the supremacy of the Constitution is genuine or merely empty rhetoric, particularly at a time when many citizens feel oppressed by the state. He urges the chief justice to act swiftly to safeguard the principles of justice and uphold the rule of law in Pakistan.
