The Directorate General of Passports has begun installing cutting-edge passport printing machines imported from Germany, capable of producing 1,000 passports per hour. This advanced technology is expected to significantly enhance the efficiency and quality of passport issuance in the country.
Director General of Immigration and Passports, Mustafa Jamal Qazi, recently visited the e-printer section to review the installation process. During his visit, foreign experts provided a detailed briefing on the integration of the new printers and their anticipated impact on passport processing.
“These modern printers will drastically improve both the speed and quality of passport production,” stated Qazi. He further mentioned that additional e-printers are scheduled to arrive in Pakistan next month, further strengthening the system’s capacity and efficiency.
With the deployment of these high-performance machines, the government aims to streamline passport issuance, reducing processing times and ensuring that citizens, both in Pakistan and abroad, receive their passports promptly. The newly installed printers are equipped with state-of-the-art technology designed to meet international security and quality standards.
Officials believe this initiative will not only enhance service delivery but also minimize delays in passport distribution, benefiting a large number of applicants. The move reflects ongoing efforts to modernize and digitize government services, improving accessibility for citizens worldwide.
The installation of these printers marks a key milestone in the country’s digital transformation journey, reinforcing its commitment to leveraging technology for efficient public service delivery.
