IT Test

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has set January 3 as the closing date for applications for the centralized test designed for Computer Science and Information Technology graduates seeking apprenticeships with leading IT companies in Pakistan.

This initiative, orchestrated by the HEC in collaboration with various key entities including the Special Investment Facilitation Council, IT Ministry, Pakistan Software Export Board, Pakistan IT Industry Association, and National Computing Education Accreditation Council, aims to connect talented IT students with valuable hands-on experience in the latest technologies.

Scheduled to be conducted through the Virtual University platform, the test targets students in the 7th semester of Computer Science and related disciplines. The program’s primary objective is to facilitate the placement of skilled IT students in the industry, enabling them to gain practical experience and enhance their prospects for better job opportunities in both local and international markets.

Registration for the test must be completed by January 3, with the examination slated for January 7. Eligibility is restricted to students enrolled in the 7th semester of BS/BE Computing or related disciplines.

The focus areas of the test encompass critical domains such as Operating Systems, Software Engineering, Data Structures, Networking, Programming, Databases, and Problem Solving/Analytics. By emphasizing these areas, the HEC aims to ensure that participating students are well-equipped with the foundational knowledge and skills necessary for success in the IT industry.

This collaborative effort between academic institutions and industry stakeholders demonstrates a commitment to fostering practical learning experiences for students, ultimately contributing to their professional growth and competitiveness in the dynamic field of Information Technology.
