HEC imposes ban
ISLAMABAD: The Higher Education Commission imposed a complete ban on the celebration of Holi festivals in all universities throughout Pakistan.
The HEC took the decision after the students of Quaid-i-Azam University celebrated Holi Festival on June 12.
The festival became viral on social media.

Students of Quaid-e-Azam University are dancing on Pushto songs.
Meanwhile, the Commission has issued a notification wherein it expressed a concern over the recent Holi festival at Quaid-e-Azam University. The HEC describing the event as a complete detachment from the sociocultural values of Pakistan. The Commission also termed it a threat to the countryโs โIslamic identityโ.
โWhile there is no denying the fact that cultural, ethnic, and religious diversity leads towards an inclusive and tolerant society. It profoundly respects all faiths and creeds that must be done so in a measured manner.โ

The students must be aware of the self-serving vested interests of those who use them for their own ends,โ the notification added.
Biggest Holi festival in Quaid-e-Azam University
Moreover, thousands of students of Quaid-e-Azam University in Islamabad celebrated theย Holi Festivalย with great enthusiasm.
The participation of thousands of students in the Holi Festival demonstrates religious harmony and tolerance at Quaid-e-Azam University.
It also shows the respect the students have for their university fellows who follow the Hindu faith in Pakistan.
Pushto Songs and Dance
Hundreds of the students of the Quaid-e-Azam University in Islamabad celebrated the evening with famous Pushto songs and dances.
Jubilant students of the varsity dressed in simple traditional Shalwar-Kameez made the evening thrilling by singing songs in chorus and dancing with twists.
Scores of the students are dancing in different groups while many are watching while sitting in the lush-green ground glittering with night lights.
This cultural event voluntarily organized by the QAU students surfaced on social media just a couple of days after the students celebrated the biggest Holi event last week.
