BAHAWALPUR: The Higher Education Commission (HEC) of Pakistan has set up a five-member fact-finding committee to investigate the videos and drugs scandal that took place at the Islamic University Bahawalpur. The committee will be led by Dr. Muhammad Ali, the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Bahauddin Zakariya University (BZU). The primary task of the HEC-formed committee is to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter.
The other members of the committee include Lt. Gen (R) Moazzam Ejaz from the National University Islamabad, Pro-Vice Chancellor Najma Najam from the International University Lahore, Rector Tahira Aziz Mughal from the Imperial College of Business Studies Lahore, and P&D Finance Advisor Mazhar Saeed.
The fact-finding committee will review the evidence, interview relevant individuals, and prepare a comprehensive probe report based on their findings. The aim is to ascertain the truth behind the scandal and identify any individuals or groups involved in the illegal activities that came to light at the Islamic University Bahawalpur.

Supreme Court Urged To Take Suo Motu Action On Islamia University Bahawalpur Scandal
Earlier, a petition was filed with the Human Rights Cell of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. The petition urged the court to take suo motu action and set up a judicial commission to investigate the incident.
Advocate Mudassir Chaudhry formally submitted the application at the Supreme Court Lahore Registry. It urged immediate action to address the alarming situation at Islamia University Bahawalpur.
