Traffic Violation Fines
ISLAMABAD: The government has announced a substantial increase of up to 200pc in traffic violation fines on national highways and motorways across the country.
They have raised the fines for over speeding on motorways and highways to Rs.2,000. The maximum speed limit for light vehicles is 120 km/h, and for heavy vehicles, it is 110 km/h.
In addition, the police will now impose fines of Rs.5,000 on motorcyclists, cars, and LTV drivers caught driving without a license, and Rs.10,000 on HTV and PSV drivers.
Violating lanes will result in fines of Rs.1,000 for motorcyclists, cars, and LTV drivers and Rs.5,000 for HTV and PSV drivers.
Also, a fine of Rs.300 will be issued for wrong overtaking, and the fine for using HID lights will be Rs.2,000.
In August, the National Highway Authority (NHA) increased toll tax rates on the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway (M2) once again. The new taxes, which took effect on August 26, will be in place for the next 12 months.
According to the revised rates, the car toll rate has risen by Rs.3.7 per km to Rs.1,100, while the wagon toll rate has increased to Rs.1,840.
