Five Pakistani army soldiers were martyred in a firefight with terrorists during an operation in the Bagh area of Khyber district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, on Monday, according to the military’s media wing.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) identified the fallen soldiers as Naik Muhammad Ashfaq Butt, 32, from Kahuta; Lance Naik Syed Danish Afkar, 30, from Poonch; Sepoy Taimoor Malik, 32, from Layyah; Sepoy Nadir Sageer, 22, from Bagh; and Sepoy Muhammad Yasin, 23, from Khushab.
The operation resulted in the deaths of seven terrorists and injuries to two others. Follow-up sanitisation operations are ongoing to eliminate any remaining threats in the area. The ISPR emphasized that such sacrifices bolster the security forces’ determination to eradicate terrorism from Pakistan.
On Sunday, an army captain and a soldier were martyred in an intelligence-based operation in the Hassan Khel area of Peshawar district. This operation led to the deaths of five terrorists and injuries to three others.
In another operation in the Tank district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ten terrorists were killed. Over the course of these three operations, a total of twenty-three terrorists were neutralized.
A substantial cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the killed terrorists. These militants had been actively involved in numerous terrorist activities targeting both security forces and innocent civilians. The ISPR reaffirmed the commitment of the security forces to eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country, highlighting that the sacrifices of their brave soldiers strengthen their resolve.
