Eight men murdered with axe in PTI MNA’s ancestral village in Sheikhupura

SHEIKHUPURA/ISLAMABAD: Eight men were murdered with an axe in Hachar, an ancestral village of PTI MNA Rahat Amanullah Bhatti.

Former advocate general of Punjab Khawar Ikram Bhatti also belongs to this village.

On Saturday morning, police recovered bodies of eight men from the different locations in Hachar Village of Sheikhupura district. Residents of the village found the dead bodies and informed the police about the tragedy.

According to the police, all the people were killed using a sharp object like an axe. Unfortunately, all the victims were sleeping in the fields, taking care of their rice crop. The incident took place on the night between Friday and Saturday.

The killer targeted men who were alone at night mostly in rice fields.

Sheikhupura District Police Officer Faisal Mukhtar said that soon after they received the report of the incident, the police team rushed to the spot.

A suspect was taken into custody along with what seems to be the weapon used in the murders.

According to officials, the accused seems to be mentally instable, however, investigation over the incident is being carried out.
