ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has opted to utilize the Election Management System (EMS) to ensure the prompt finalization of results.

Sources within the ECP have indicated that preparations have been finalized to ensure the timely release of results for the February 8 elections. Each Returning Officer has been assigned three data entry operators to facilitate the result finalization process on the EMS, a system designed to operate even without internet connectivity.

ECP

The ECP has successfully conducted tests of the system in all four provinces, ensuring its capability to contribute to the timely and accurate finalization of results on February 8.

It is noteworthy that the Election Commission of Pakistan has made comprehensive arrangements to conduct impartial, transparent, and fair general elections across the country. The ECP has also released a code of conduct for security officials deployed during the upcoming general elections on February 8, 2024. This code binds security personnel, excluding Armed Forces and Civil Armed Forces, to carry out their duties in accordance with the law and collaborate with presiding officers, returning officers (ROs), and polling staff.
