Finance Minister of Pakistan Ishaq Dar

Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah stated today that no one in the government had proposed Finance Minister Ishaq Dar’s name for the caretaker prime minister position. He emphasized that neither was Dar’s name suggested nor rejected, suggesting that it could be a mere rumor.

Currently, the government is engaged in ongoing discussions about whether to appoint a bureaucrat or a politician to the coveted post.
If there is a consensus to appoint a politician, then the government could consider Ishaq Dar or any other politician from any party for the coveted post.

However, Sanaullah assured that the government would strive to appoint a person acceptable to all sides.

Earlier this week, rumors surfaced about Ishaq Dar’s potential candidacy for the interim Chief Minister (CM) position. However, neither Dar nor any other Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader refuted these speculations.

In fact, Planning Minister Ahsan Iqbal even suggested that the government could consider the finance minister for the post.

Subsequently, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif refuted the reports, and the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) also voiced opposition to his appointment.

Anticipating Nawaz Sharif’s Return

During the program, Sanaullah addressed the topic of Nawaz Sharif’s potential return to Pakistan. He emphasized that the current government does not possess the authority to permit Nawaz’s comeback to politics, highlighting that this notion is entirely incorrect.

Instead, he pointed to the Supreme Court as the entity responsible for disqualifying Nawaz. Many contested widely and did not accept the order.Sanaullah openly accused the judges of showing bias against the PML-N supremo.

The minister also stated that PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz had obtained acquittals in her cases through court proceedings, and he believed that Nawaz would achieve the same outcome upon his return.

Sanaullah confidently asserted that Nawaz Sharif would soon return to Pakistan. He stated that Nawaz would secure interim bails and then acquittals. This would put an end to all the political restrictions imposed on him through conspiracies.

Furthermore, Parliament passed a law that limits the disqualification of a parliamentarian to five years, directly benefiting Nawaz Sharif. He was previously banned for a lifetime from running for office.
