Imran Claims “Current situation is not a big crisis for me”
Imran Khan, the party’s chairman, claims that he is not in a serious crisis as a result of the current crackdown and exodus of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) officials following the chaos on May 9.
The former prime minister, who was removed from office in April by a vote of no-confidence, voiced his opinion during an interview with BBC on Monday, that the present political situation does not provide a serious threat to him.
Khan also spoke about the upcoming general elections in the country, saying that losing the backing of the vote bank will only damage his position.
However, a number of important party figures, including Shireen Mazari, Ali Zaidi, and Fawad Chaudhry, among others, have made the decision to cut ties with Khan, citing attacks on military targets as justification.
“Firstly, we will fill in all the positions of people who have left,” he said, adding, “So have younger blood, newer people coming in. They’ll probably get arrested, too.”
Khan went on to say that he thought he might go to jail and that he is constantly monitoring the whole thing while he waits for developments.
He emphasised that under such conditions, he has no intention of yielding or keeping quiet.

The ousted prime minister also questioned the advantages Pakistan would receive by barring him from the race, wondering why such moves would be taken.
Khan stated that he had never communicated with party members which might have sparked the May 9 riots, which led to PTI supporters damaging government property and assaulting military sites around the nation.
Khan stated: “The term red line means a country where there is no rule of law and people are picked up.”
He further added: if “I am put in jail then there will be a reaction”.
The PTI chairman affirmed that regardless of the circumstances, elections will indeed occur this year.
He emphasized the party’s determination to actively campaign for the upcoming election regardless of any challenges or obstacles they may encounter.
