KARACHI/ISLAMABAD: The Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Karachi arrested a suspected terrorist involved in the killing of a Chinese in an attack on a dental clinic in Karachi’s Saddar area on Sep 28.

A young man, identified as Ronald Raymond Chou, was killed in the attack while a dentist couple of Chinese origin, Dr Richard Hu and his wife Phen Teyin, were injured critically when a masked man entered the clinic and opened indiscriminate fire at them.

Karachi police registered a case a day after the attack against the outlawed Sindhudesh People’s Army, a coalition of Sindhi and Baloch separatist outfits.

In a statement issued today, the CTD said that the suspect is associated with the Sindh People’s Army, an offshoot of the outlawed Sindh Revolutionary Army (SRA), and was arrested in a targeted operation.

The CTD further stated that it examined the footprint of the terrorists with the assistance of intelligence officials and also analyzed the CCTV footage.

The CTD team managed to trace terrorist, identified as Waqar Khushik and arrested him.

According to CTD, the suspect was given the task by Zulfikar Khaskheli, adding that the teams are trying to apprehend accomplices of the suspect.
