Judge threat case: Court issues non-bailable arrest warrant for Imran Khan
On Wednesday, a local court in Islamabad issued non-bailable arrest warrants against Imran Khan, the chief of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), in a case that accuses him of threatening a female judge.
Judicial magistrate Malik Aman announced the verdict, rejecting the request for relief from Imran’s counsel and ordering his presence in court on April 18.
Last Year, A Case registered against the former prime minister registered last year for his remarks at a rally in F9 Park.
In his remarks, he warned Additional District and Sessions Judge Zeba Chaudhry and police high-ups of dire consequences for what he called their “biased” attitude towards his party.
Prosecutor Raja Rizwan Abbasi argued that Imran should appear before the court for the next hearing, and the judge maintained the warrant’s date of March 29, despite Imran’s lawyer’s request for a change to March 30.
Justice Mandokhail again pointed out during the hearing that the SC’s decision on elections lacked the required majority of judges.
Also, Justice Mandokhel said that the apex court and President Dr. Alvi were not supposed to issue orders to hold elections in Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
