RAWALPINDI: On Thursday, Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir emphasized that law enforcement actions against various illegal activities would persist at full force. The COAS visited Lahore and attended a meeting of the Provincial Apex Committee alongside Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab, Mohsin Raza Naqvi.
During the Apex Committee meeting, the COAS received a briefing on the overall security situation, which included law enforcement operations against electricity and gas theft, hoarding, and foreign currency smuggling, as per an Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) news release.
He reaffirmed that these actions would continue with full force, conducted in collaboration with relevant law enforcement agencies and government departments to eliminate the substantial economic losses the country had endured due to various pilferage methods.
The Forum also received updates on the protection of minority rights and the progress of operations in the Kacha area. Additionally, they reviewed the repatriation of illegal foreign nationals.
Moreover, the Forum received briefings on the progress of initiatives such as the Specialized Infrastructure Financing Company (SIFC) and the Green Punjab project.
COAS stressed the importance of synergy among all relevant departments to maximize the positive impact of these significant initiatives.
Participants at the meeting expressed unity among state institutions, government departments, and the public in their commitment to the progress and prosperity of the province. Upon his arrival, the COAS was welcomed by the Commander Lahore Corps.
