Graham “Dingo” Dinkelman, a popular South African YouTuber and conservationist celebrated for his adventurous wildlife videos, has tragically passed away after a snake bite.
Dinkelman, affectionately known as “South Africa’s Steve Irwin,” succumbed to injuries from a venomous Eastern green mamba bite, which left him in a medically induced coma for a month due to severe anaphylactic shock.
His wife, Kirsty, shared the heartbreaking news on social media, highlighting Dinkelman’s love for his family and dedication to wildlife conservation. “Dingo’s greatest joy was having his family work closely with him,” she wrote. The couple’s three children—Taylor, 14, Maddy, 12, and Rex, 9—were often featured in his videos.
Dinkelman’s engaging YouTube content frequently showcased him handling snakes, interacting with crocodiles, and spending time with the family’s giraffe. His channel, which recently introduced a family segment called “The Dinkelmans,” had garnered nearly 4,000 subscribers.
With a strong social media following, Dinkelman was highly regarded in the conservation community, admired for his passion for reptiles and African wildlife.
His passing is a tremendous loss to both the wildlife community and his many fans around the world.
