Former Lt-Gen Muhammad Aamir appointed as Ambassador to Qatar amid reshuffle of Pakistani envoys

ISLAMABAD: Former Corps Commander Lt Gen (retd) Muhammad Aamir has been reassigned as Pakistan’s ambassador to Qatar.

Initially appointed as ambassador to the UAE in August, replacing Faisal Tirmazi, Lt Gen Aamir will now serve in Qatar under the new arrangement.

Ambassador Tirmazi, previously slated for Brussels, will remain in his current post in the UAE.

The reshuffling of diplomatic posts also includes Dr. Mohammad Ejaz, the current ambassador to Qatar, who has been reassigned as Pakistan’s envoy to Belarus. Marghub Saleem Butt, presently stationed at headquarters, will take over as ambassador to Switzerland.

Additionally, Ambassador Shaukat has been transferred to Cairo, where he will replace Sajid Iqbal.

In Oman, Naveed Bokhari, currently attending the National Management Course at the National Defence University in Islamabad, will succeed Ambassador Imran Chaudhry.
