Arif Alvi: Imran Khan Refuses Offer to Leave Pakistan

Former President Dr. Arif Alvi disclosed on Wednesday that there was an offer for Imran Khan to leave the country, which he declined, opting instead to confront the consequences head-on, showcasing his resilience and bravery. Alvi made these remarks during an event in Faisalabad, emphasizing Khan’s unwavering commitment to remaining in Pakistan despite challenges.

Alvi bemoaned the persistent absence of accountability in Pakistan, tracing its roots back to Ayub Khan’s regime and lamenting its continued neglect. He expressed his disillusionment with the current state of affairs, conveying a sense of lost hope in the accountability process.

Regarding the cipher case, Alvi commended the Islamabad High Court’s ruling, deeming it a justifiable verdict given the lack of substance in the case. He praised the court’s decision, asserting that it was a rightful resolution to a baseless accusation.

Overall, Alvi’s remarks underscored the challenges faced by Pakistan in ensuring accountability and the rule of law. Despite setbacks, Khan’s refusal to leave the country signifies a resolve to confront challenges and uphold principles, while the judicial system’s decision in the cipher case reflects a commitment to fairness and justice.
