When her mother visited the house, Andleeb Fatima burst into tears upon seeing her and pleaded to be taken home. When inquired about the reasons for her distress, the survivor disclosed that the homeowner regularly subjected her to severe abuse, showing no remorse. She recounted being confined to a room and subjected to physical harm, including burns from hot iron spoons. The survivor’s mother also alleged that the mistreatment was a routine occurrence.

The charges were filed under sections 342, 506, and 328 of the Pakistan Penal Code. It was filed within the jurisdiction of Tarnol Police Station in Islamabad’s Sector G-15. Despite registering the case, law enforcement agencies have not made any arrests of individuals involved in the incident. The family, along with the 13-year-old survivor returned to their hometown later.

The Islamabad Police have initiated an investigation of the incident. In a separate incident back in July, a case of suspected child abuse surfaced when a girl employed as a domestic helper at the residence of a civil judge was admitted to a hospital in Lahore with severe injuries. Currently, the case is pending in a local court in Islamabad.
