15 Dead, 25 Injured as Tribal Clashes Escalate in Kurram Using Heavy Weapons

Violence has intensified in Lower Kurram, where rival groups are engaged in fierce clashes involving heavy and automatic weapons. Police sources report that at least 15 people have lost their lives, and 25 others have been injured as the hostilities continue unabated.

The unrest began after an attack on passenger vehicles, sparking a series of retaliatory confrontations. The escalating violence has forced authorities to take urgent measures, including the closure of educational institutions across the Kurram district for safety reasons. Residents have been strongly advised to remain indoors as tensions in the area show no sign of subsiding.

Both factions continue to exchange fire, causing significant disruption and raising fears of further casualties. Local law enforcement agencies are closely monitoring the situation while making efforts to mediate and de-escalate the conflict. However, the ongoing violence has made immediate resolution challenging.

Authorities have emphasized the need for restraint from all parties to prevent the crisis from worsening. Meanwhile, residents remain anxious about their safety as the district struggles with the fallout of the violence. Security forces remain on high alert to address any further escalation and protect civilian lives.

The situation in Kurram underscores the persistent challenges in maintaining peace in the tribal areas, where long-standing rivalries frequently erupt into deadly confrontations. Efforts are underway to restore calm and bring the perpetrators of the violence to justice.
