Police and the Counter-Terrorism Department conducted a targeted intelligence-based operation in Lakki Marwat.
The operation took place late Monday night in the Shah Hassan Khel area, according to police officials. During the action, security personnel killed two militants who were reportedly wanted by law-enforcement agencies.
The operation involved police and CTD personnel, while the DSP Lakki Marwat led the action. Members of the peace committee from village council Bego Khel also participated in the operation.
One Slain Militant Identified
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed identified one of the slain militants as Mubashar.
He said Mubashar was the son of Aslam Khan and was wanted in several serious cases. According to the IGP, law-enforcement agencies wanted Mubashar in connection with murder, attempted murder and terrorism cases.
However, authorities had not established the identity of the second slain militant when the report was filed.
Police have yet to provide further details about the second individualโs identity.
Intelligence-Based Action Conducted in Shah Hassan Khel
The operation was carried out following intelligence regarding the presence of wanted militants in the area. Police and CTD personnel jointly conducted the targeted action in Shah Hassan Khel.
The DSP Lakki Marwat supervised the operation, while members of the local peace committee also supported the security effort.
