Hundreds of heavy motorcycles used by Lahore’s Dolphin Force remain inactive following a ban on high-octane fuel. The shortage of suitable fuel has left the force’s 500cc heavy bikes parked and unavailable for regular operations.
The situation follows the Prime Minister’s decision to ban high-octane fuel for large government vehicles across the country.
According to available information, Dolphin Force personnel have been unable to use the heavy motorcycles because of fuel unavailability.
More Than 200 Bikes Could Return to Service
The Dolphin Force operates 500cc heavy motorcycles for its field duties in Lahore. However, many of these motorcycles are currently not being used because the required high-octane fuel is unavailable.
If permission is granted to use high-octane fuel, more than 200 motorcycles could reportedly become operational again.
Meanwhile, hundreds of heavy Dolphin Force bikes remain inactive across Lahore.
The continued unavailability of the motorcycles has affected the force’s ability to use them for operational duties.
Dolphin Force Personnel Shift to Police Stations
Following the closure of heavy-bike operations, Dolphin Force personnel started performing duties with police stations.
As a result, the force’s operational capacity has been affected by the non-availability of its motorcycles.
The heavy bikes allow personnel to carry out their assigned duties on the roads.
However, the current fuel restrictions have prevented many of these motorcycles from returning to regular service.
Decision on New Motorcycles Still Pending
Authorities have yet to make a final decision regarding the purchase of new motorcycles for the Dolphin Force.
For now, the existing heavy bikes remain largely inactive because of the fuel issue.
If permission is granted for high-octane fuel, more than 200 motorcycles could potentially become usable again.
Until a decision is reached, the non-availability of the heavy bikes continues to affect Dolphin Force operations in Lahore.
