Passengers at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport faced travel disruptions on Saturday after eight flights were cancelled, while several others experienced lengthy delays. The cancellations affected domestic and international routes, including services to Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Colombo and Karachi.
Airport sources attributed one cancellation to technical reasons, while the supplied information did not specify the reasons behind the other affected flights.
Abu Dhabi and Dubai Flights Among Those Cancelled
An Abu Dhabi-bound flight, EY285, operated by a private airline, was cancelled because of technical issues. The flight had been scheduled to depart from Lahore.
Meanwhile, two flights heading to Dubai were also cancelled. These included PA410 and PA416, both scheduled to travel from Lahore to the UAE city.
In addition, flight 8D982, which was scheduled to travel to Colombo, was cancelled. These disruptions affected passengers travelling on several international routes from Lahore.
Karachi-Bound Flights Also Cancelled
Domestic air travel also faced disruption, with four Karachi-bound flights among the cancellations reported on Saturday.
The affected services included P9-845 and PF146, operated by private airlines. Furthermore, flights PK307 and PA401, also scheduled to travel from Lahore to Karachi, were cancelled.
The cancellations disrupted travel plans for passengers heading to Pakistan’s largest city. However, the available information did not specify the reasons for these four cancellations.
Passengers Face Hours-Long Delays
Alongside the eight cancellations, several other flights experienced delays lasting hours at Allama Iqbal International Airport. These delays added to the disruption faced by passengers travelling through Lahore on Saturday.
The available details did not identify all delayed flights or provide their revised departure times. Similarly, no further information was provided about the number of passengers affected by the cancellations and delays.
Passengers scheduled to travel on affected services should check their flight status with their respective airlines before proceeding with their journeys.
