PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has introduced a digital driving license system. It allows motorists to access their licenses through a mobile application across the province.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police officially launched the facility to reduce reliance on physical driving licenses. Motorists can now keep their licenses on their mobile phones.
To access the e-license, users can enter their CNIC number in the relevant application. The digital license then appears on the mobile screen within minutes.
Drivers can present the digital document during traffic checks instead of carrying a physical license. Moreover, officials will accept the digital version without imposing fines.
Traffic officials in Peshawar have received instructions to recognize the digital driving license as a valid legal document.
Police Embrace Modern Traffic Services
Peshawar Chief Traffic Officer Dr Muhammad Zahid described the initiative as an important step toward modernizing traffic police services.
He said the digital system would incorporate modern technology into the traffic management framework. Additionally, it would make services more convenient and accessible for citizens.
The initiative forms part of broader efforts to promote digital services across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. It also aims to simplify interactions between motorists and traffic authorities.
