Kourtney Kardashian has responded to Jennifer Lawrence’s blunt comments about her, turning the awkward moment into a playful family-style joke. During the Season 8 premiere of The Kardashians on October 8, Kourtney revealed that Lawrence had emailed her after calling her “more annoying than ever” during a Vanity Fair lie detector test.
Jennifer Lawrence Explains Her Kourtney Dig
Last November, Lawrence took part in Vanity Fair’s Lie Detector Test with Robert Pattinson. During the interview, she spoke openly about Kourtney’s personality on Season 7 of The Kardashians.
“Kourtney is more annoying than ever,” Lawrence said at the time.
The Oscar-winning actress explained that Kourtney seemed to turn everyday choices into major announcements.
“Everything has to be an announcement,” Lawrence said. She then mentioned Kourtney’s comments about not wearing outfits anymore and not having a television in her bedroom.
Lawrence suggested that Kourtney should simply make those choices without announcing them.
Kourtney Gets a Sister-Style Response Ready
Kourtney later told her friend Simon Huck that Lawrence reached out by email.
“She’s like, ‘I just feel like I’m one of your sisters,’” Kourtney recalled during the episode.
Lawrence also told her that she watched the clip again and felt her comments were not as harsh as they first sounded. Kourtney, meanwhile, took the situation lightly. She joked that if Lawrence considered herself one of the Kardashian sisters, she would receive the same treatment.
Kourtney even referenced her famous 2020 fight with Kim Kardashian while describing her reaction.
She joked that she could invite Lawrence over and “go at it” with her like she would with Kim.
Kourtney Says the Timing Was Sensitive
Despite the playful response, Kourtney admitted that Lawrence’s email arrived during a difficult week.
She said she already felt that everyone was criticizing her while the show was airing.
“It was also a sensitive week when she sent it,” Kourtney explained. “I felt like our show was airing and everybody was ganging up on me.”
Still, Kourtney described Lawrence’s email as “so nice.”
She had not replied yet, but she joked that she would continue the playful rivalry the next time they met.
Jennifer Lawrence has remained close to the Kardashian-Jenner family for years. She even attended Kris Jenner’s 2019 wedding to Cooke Maroney.
