Hyundai Motor Group will expand its Pleos Connect infotainment system to Kia vehicles starting in 2027. The platform introduces a smartphone-like experience with advanced software and AI-powered features.
The company has not confirmed the first Kia models receiving the upgrade. However, reports suggest the Kia K9 sedan and EV9 electric SUV could launch the system first.
Pleos Connect already debuted in new Hyundai models during 2026. Hyundai plans to install the platform in around 20 million connected vehicles by 2030.
New Platform Brings AI And App Support
Pleos Connect runs on Android Automotive OS and features an app-based interface. Drivers can customize screens, use split-screen mode, and access multiple windows simultaneously.
The platform also includes Gleo AI, a voice assistant developed by Hyundai’s software company, 42dot. Furthermore, the assistant understands natural language and handles multiple commands in one request.
Drivers can control navigation, climate settings, and vehicle functions through voice commands. Additionally, the system can search the internet for news, weather, and sports updates.
App Market And Future Rollout Planned
Hyundai will launch the Pleos App Market for compatible Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis vehicles. The marketplace will support third-party applications, including YouTube, Spotify, navigation, and entertainment services.
The platform also supports over-the-air software updates after vehicle delivery. Consequently, Hyundai can introduce new features without requiring dealership visits.
Pleos Connect debuted in the Hyundai Grandeur in South Korea during May 2026. Kia is expected to begin adopting the platform next year, although the company has not confirmed the first eligible models.
