Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif has spoken about the pressure of public opinion following online criticism of her appearance after childbirth.
During a Kay Beauty event in London, Katrina discussed how social media comments can affect self-worth and personal decisions. Although she did not directly address the recent trolling, her remarks came after users criticised her postpartum appearance.
Katrina Kaif Speaks About Social Media Pressure
Katrina urged people not to let online opinions determine their sense of value.
“I think we really need to be careful of letting the narrative on social media affect our self-worth and value because there are so many opinions out there,” she said.
The actress explained that constantly trying to satisfy other people’s expectations can make it difficult to make independent choices.
She also reflected on how criticism could affect her own confidence and career decisions.
“Personally, for me, every time that I faced critics or comments, if I let that dictate my actions, I think I would have been paralysed with fear and unable to move ahead in my life,” Katrina added.
Online Criticism Follows Katrina’s Public Appearance
Katrina recently attended the Ambani family’s Ganesh Puja celebrations with her husband, actor Vicky Kaushal.
Following the appearance, some social media users criticised changes in her appearance after pregnancy. Others defended the actress and challenged the scrutiny directed at new mothers.
Katrina did not directly respond to the comments. Instead, her London remarks focused on maintaining confidence despite public criticism.
“There are times the world is going to celebrate you and other times, you really have to be your own biggest cheerleader,” she said.
Salman Khan Also Defends Katrina
Actor Salman Khan previously criticised people who mocked Katrina’s postpartum weight gain during an episode of Bigg Boss 20.
He questioned why people targeted women for changes in their bodies after pregnancy. He also noted that women should have the freedom to recover and return to work in their own time.
Katrina and Vicky welcomed their son, Vihaan, on November 7, 2025. The actress’s recent comments have renewed discussion about online body-shaming and the expectations placed on women after motherhood.
