Islamabad Traffic Police has issued a traffic advisory for the Kashmir Day Walk scheduled for Tuesday, October 27. The diversions will begin at 7am and continue until the event concludes.
The walk is expected to affect traffic on several major roads across the federal capital. Therefore, commuters should plan their journeys in advance and use alternative routes to avoid delays.
Roads Affected by Traffic Diversions
Traffic will be diverted on Shahrah-e-Jamhuriat between the Secretariat and France Turn. Motorists should use Margalla Road as an alternative.
Traffic movement will also face restrictions between Dhoke Dhokri Chowk near Serena Hotel and France Turn. Commuters can use Embassy Road and Ataturk Road instead.
Meanwhile, traffic from Shams Picket towards Radio Pakistan will face diversions. Motorists should take the route through Bari Imam and Third Avenue.
Traffic heading towards the Secretariat from FBR Chowk and Waheed Shaheed Chowk will also face restrictions. The police have recommended Margalla Road for these commuters.
In addition, traffic between NADRA Headquarters and Radio Pakistan Chowk will be diverted. Drivers can use Jinnah Avenue and Margalla Road to reach their destinations.
Special Parking Arrangements Announced
Islamabad Traffic Police has established designated parking areas for people attending the walk.
Authorities have reserved the D-Chowk Parade Ground for VIP vehicles. Meanwhile, participants from the general public can park their vehicles at the National Library.
The police have urged participants to use these designated parking facilities. They have also advised motorists to avoid unnecessary roadside parking to prevent congestion.
Citizens Advised to Check Traffic Updates
Chief Traffic Officer Kainat Azhar Khan has asked citizens to cooperate with traffic personnel deployed along the affected routes. Commuters can check the latest traffic updates through FM 92.4 and the official social media pages of Islamabad Police.
The department has encouraged residents to follow instructions, choose suitable alternative routes and allow extra time for their journeys. These measures will help reduce congestion and support the safe movement of Kashmir Day Walk participants.
