KARACHI: Police killed the main suspect in the abduction and murder of a six-year-old girl during a raid in Karachiโs Keamari area on Thursday. Officers said the suspect opened fire when they attempted to arrest him, triggering an exchange of gunfire.
Authorities have launched separate legal proceedings over the encounter while continuing the investigation into the childโs abduction and murder.
Police Track Suspect Through CCTV Footage
According to a police spokesperson, officers registered FIR No. 265/2026 at Jackson Police Station under Sections 364-A and 302 of the Pakistan Penal Code.
Investigators collected CCTV footage from multiple locations and examined other evidence to identify the suspect.
During the investigation, police received credible information about the suspectโs location in the Mubarak Mosque area, which falls within the limits of Jackson Police Station.
A police team immediately conducted a raid to arrest him.
Suspect Dies After Exchange of Fire
Police said the suspect opened fire as soon as he saw the officers.
The police team returned fire in self-defence, according to the spokesperson.
The suspect suffered gunshot wounds during the exchange and later died.
After the operation, investigators secured the scene and collected all relevant evidence under legal procedures.
Police have started a separate case regarding the encounter, while forensic and legal formalities remain underway.
Investigation Continues Into Girlโs Murder
Police said investigators continue examining CCTV footage, forensic findings, technical evidence, and medico-legal reports to complete the case.
Authorities stated that every available piece of evidence will help determine the full circumstances surrounding the crime.
Police Surgeon Confirms Sexual Violence
Police recovered the six-year-old girl’s body from bushes in Karachiโs Manora area.
Police Surgeon Dr Sumaiyya Syed said the victim had suffered sexual violence.
“The victim was subjected to sexual violence.”
She added that doctors found multiple marks of violence across the child’s body.
“There are multiple marks of violence all over the body.”
Medical teams collected all forensic samples, while experts continue examining the evidence.
“The cause of death has been reserved pending the reports.”
The case has shocked the public and renewed concerns about crimes against children. Police say the investigation will continue until they complete all legal and forensic procedures.
