Large Manufacturing Unit Dismantled in Garibabad
Karachi police arrested five people during their raid on a illegal gutka factory. Factory was located in Garibabad area of Karachi.
Police said the operation dismantled a large manufacturing and packing unit. One arrested suspect was allegedly wanted in several criminal cases.
Officers identified the main suspect as Naseer, also known as Chocha. Police said he had been avoiding arrest for an extended period.
Machinery and Large Quantity of Material Seized
Police recovered a mixing and packing machine from the factory.
Authorities also seized nearly 200 kilograms of areca nut. Around 1,000 packets of prepared chewing tobacco were also recovered.
During initial questioning, the main suspect allegedly admitted operating the illegal business since 2001.
He reportedly told investigators that he had previously established another factory at a rented property in Old Golimar.
Police said the suspect also identified Haji Riyats as his former business partner.
Suspect Reveals Alleged Criminal Network Links
Investigators claimed the suspect disclosed information about another factory in Lyari.
The location was allegedly used to hide weapons, narcotics, and other illegal materials.
Police said the suspect also admitted making weekly payments to an individual identified as Kashif Dada since 2024.
Associates of the alleged criminal network were reportedly allowed to store illegal goods inside the factory.
The suspect also allegedly provided financial assistance for the group’s criminal operations.
Police have registered a case against the arrested suspects. Further investigations are underway to verify the claims and identify other people involved.
