KARACHI: Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab has announced that Regal Chowk in Saddar will be renamed Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Chowk ahead of Rabi ul Awwal celebrations.
The mayor made the announcement during his visit to the area on Tuesday. He was accompanied by the municipal commissioner and members of the City Council.
The decision is part of preparations for the holy month, during which Karachi will witness special decorations and lighting arrangements.
Chowk to Receive Development and Beautification Work
Speaking during the visit, Murtaza Wahab said the newly named Khatm-e-Nabuwwat Chowk would undergo redevelopment and beautification.
He said the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) would improve the area to enhance its appearance and provide better facilities.
Moreover, the mayor highlighted the city administrationโs efforts during Muharram. He said KMC successfully managed arrangements during the religious occasion.
He also assured citizens that similar efforts would continue during Rabi ul Awwal.
Departments Put on Alert for Celebrations
Murtaza Wahab said all relevant departments would remain active throughout the holy month.
He added that authorities would focus on maintaining public convenience and ensuring smooth arrangements across the city.
Furthermore, the mayor said Karachi would be decorated and illuminated to mark Rabi ul Awwal celebrations.
The administration plans to provide improved civic services while managing the expected public activities during the month.
The renaming and redevelopment of Regal Chowk represent part of the cityโs preparations for upcoming religious events.
