The family of Shahzaib, one of five people found dead at a house in Karachi’s Bin Qasim area, has shared details about his property and personal life.
Shahzaib’s cousin, Ali, said he had recently sold one house and planned to move into another property valued at Rs250 million, according to the family’s account. The revelation has raised further questions as police continue investigating the deaths.
The bodies of Shahzaib, his wife, Saba, his sister, Shumaila, and their two young daughters were discovered inside a house in a private housing society near Gulshan-e-Hadeed.
Cousin Describes Shahzaib’s Family Estrangement
Speaking after reaching the Edhi morgue to receive Shahzaib’s body, Ali said Shahzaib had remained estranged from relatives for around five to six years.
He added that Shahzaib had married around the same time and recently sold one of his houses. According to Ali, Shahzaib was preparing to move into another property.
The cousin said the family did not know what had led to the tragedy. He added that they would pursue any legal proceedings arising from the incident.
Police Investigate Financial Circumstances
Investigators recovered a handwritten note from the house that reportedly referred to financial difficulties and strained relationships with relatives. The note allegedly described unsuccessful attempts to seek assistance during a difficult period.
A close friend also urged police to investigate the money Shahzaib reportedly possessed and determine where it had gone.
However, the property details and financial circumstances do not establish the cause of the deaths. Police are examining evidence and pursuing further inquiries to establish what happened.
Forensic Investigation Continues
Police have formed an investigation team to examine the case, including forensic evidence, Shahzaib’s personal relationships and details surrounding the property. The police surgeon confirmed that Shahzaib and Saba died from gunshot wounds to the head. Authorities have withheld the causes of death for the other three family members pending further test results.
Investigators have collected samples for chemical analysis, DNA profiling and other forensic examinations. Officials have stressed that the investigation must establish the circumstances of all five deaths.
The case remains under investigation as authorities await further findings and assess the available evidence.
