Police are investigating the deaths of five members of a family after officers discovered their bodies inside a house in Karachi’s Bin Qasim area. The deceased include a married couple, the man’s sister, and their two young daughters. Investigators are examining evidence from the scene to establish what happened and determine the exact causes of death.
Who Were the Five People Found Dead in Karachi?
Police identified the deceased as Shahzaib, his wife Saba, his sister Shumaila, and their two young daughters. Officers recovered their bodies from a house in a private housing society in Bin Qasim, within Karachi’s Malir district.
According to police, Shahzaib had previously sold his house in Gulshan-e-Hadeed. He later moved with his family to a rented property in the private housing society.
However, investigators have not yet established the circumstances that led to the five deaths. Police are collecting evidence and examining the available information to reconstruct the events.
What Did Police Find Inside the House?
Initial findings suggest that Shahzaib may have died by suicide, although investigators have not confirmed the circumstances. Police also recovered a suicide note from the house, which could form part of the investigation.
Officers found the doors locked when they arrived and had to open them to enter the property. Inside, they discovered the bodies in different parts of the house.
Police found the bodies of Shahzaib’s sister and the two young girls on a bed. Investigators suspect that the children may have been poisoned, but authorities have not confirmed this possibility.
Meanwhile, officers found Shahzaib and his wife on a sofa, both with apparent gunshot wounds to their heads. Police reportedly recovered a pistol from Saba’s lap.
These initial observations have not established the full sequence of events. Therefore, investigators will need forensic findings and other evidence before confirming how each family member died.
Forensic Investigation Underway
A crime scene unit has been called to collect evidence and support the investigation. Forensic examination will help authorities assess the circumstances surrounding the deaths and verify the initial findings.
Police have not confirmed the exact cause of death for all five family members. Consequently, the suspected poisoning of the children and the circumstances surrounding the apparent gunshot wounds remain under investigation.
Officials are also examining whether anyone else may have been involved. However, authorities have not established criminal involvement at this stage.
Sindh Police Chief Orders Detailed Investigation Report
Sindh Inspector General of Police Javed Alam Odho has sought a detailed report from the Deputy Inspector General of Police for the East Zone. He has directed officials to conduct a transparent and impartial investigation into the incident.
The provincial police chief also instructed officers to collect evidence from the scene and complete all required legal and forensic procedures. In addition, he ordered immediate measures to determine whether any criminal elements were involved.
Furthermore, the IG directed the concerned officials to keep him regularly informed about developments in the investigation.
As police continue examining the evidence, the exact circumstances behind the deaths remain unclear. Investigators must establish the causes of death and reconstruct the events before reaching any final conclusions.
