A judicial magistrate court in Karachi’s East district has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for Dania Shah in a case involving the alleged circulation of indecent videos of late Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain.
During Monday’s hearing, the court directed authorities to arrest Dania Shah and present her before the court at the next hearing. The order marks a new development in the case concerning the videos of the former television personality.
Court Rejects Request for Exemption From Appearance
During the proceedings, Dania Shah’s counsel submitted a petition seeking exemption from her appearance in court. However, the opposing counsel raised objections to the request, and the court rejected the petition.
Following that decision, the court issued non-bailable arrest warrants and ordered that Dania Shah be produced at the next hearing. The case has now been adjourned until October 28, 2026.
The warrants direct authorities to secure her attendance before the court. Further proceedings are expected to take place on the scheduled date.
Aamir Liaquat’s Daughter Filed Cybercrime Petition
The case originated from a petition filed by the daughter of the late Dr Aamir Liaquat Hussain against Dania Shah under the Cyber Crime Act. The petition concerns the alleged circulation of videos involving the former television host.
The latest court order relates to Dania Shah’s appearance in the ongoing proceedings. However, the allegations remain subject to the legal process, and the court has not announced a final verdict in the case.
The next hearing on October 28 is expected to bring further proceedings as the court continues handling the matter.
