A Karachi sessions court acquitted alleged drug baroness Anmol alias Pinky in three narcotics cases. The cases were registered at Gizri police station. The cases date back to 2020, 2021 and 2022. Authorities had declared Pinky an absconder in the cases.
Court Grants Acquittal To Anmol
Additional District and Sessions Judge South Irshad Hussain heard Pinky’s acquittal pleas. Her lawyer argued that the co-accused had implicated her through their statements.
The lawyer said courts had already acquitted those co-accused. Therefore, he argued, authorities could not secure Pinky’s conviction based on their statements.
One court order stated that two arrested suspects named Pinky in a 2021 narcotics case. They allegedly claimed she supplied drugs to them.
A CTD supplementary charge sheet submitted last month revealed more cases against Pinky. Authorities had registered more than a dozen cases against her.
Anmol Faces Other Criminal Cases
Police arrested Anmol in May over two Garden police station cases. Those cases involve alleged drug possession and an unlicensed weapon.
Her arrest attracted widespread attention after a video showed police escorting her without handcuffs. The footage subsequently circulated widely on social media.
Police have maintained heavy security during her court appearances since her arrest. Meanwhile, Anmol has made allegations about pressure from police.
She claimed officers pressured her to name politicians and other influential individuals. Authorities have not established those allegations through court proceedings.
The latest acquittals remove three narcotics cases from the proceedings against Anmol. However, other cases against her remain subject to separate legal proceedings.
