Actor and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Member of Parliament Kangana Ranaut has criticised the Gen Z-led Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) protests, calling the movement “corrupt” and “rebellious”. Ranaut shared her views through a series of Instagram Stories. She accused young protesters of lacking meaningful contributions to the system and questioned their approach toward activism.
The remarks came as demonstrations continued in New Delhi over allegations of exam paper leaks. The protests intensified political discussions, with Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan stepping down following the controversy.
Ranaut Targets Young Protesters and Women
In her social media posts, Ranaut criticised what she described as a “westernised” generation of Indian women. She claimed that some young protesters were adopting lifestyles without understanding responsibility and accountability.
“They don’t do this at the cost of their parents or families. Here is a new generation of so-called westernised Indian women. I call them generational gutter. Some of them have nothing to offer to the system. They are not good at studies but they are so ugly and corrupt that they can’t be home makers either. But they probably flaunt their freedom to have drugs, drinks or endless body counts,” she wrote.
The actor-politician also commented on young Hindu women, saying some wanted the independence associated with professional women without following the same path of hard work and responsibility.
BJP Leader Emphasises Accountability During Protests
Ranaut said genuine independence requires people to make bold decisions and accept the consequences of their choices.
“Most appalled is the behaviour of young Hindu women who want to imitate the lives of independent career women, without earning that freedom. Women who are truly independent, they make rebellious choices, bold opinions, unconventional career moves and they take accountability for their actions,” she added.
She also urged protesters to avoid damaging public property during demonstrations. Ranaut said criticism is a natural consequence of public actions and warned against violent behaviour.
“Protesters who are getting beaten and abused on the roads by the common people because of their filthy and abusive roles, must understand that once you post, you will be criticised and once you damage public property, the public will damage you,” she said.
Remarks Add to Debate Around CJP Movement
Ranaut concluded by saying people must understand the results of their actions.
“Now is not a time to cry. If you receive the opposite reaction, it is due to cause and effect. You will understand soon if you have not already.”
Her comments have added further discussion to the ongoing debate surrounding the CJP protests, youth activism and political responses from public figures.
