Former judge Justice Roohul Amin Khan has been appointed chairman of the National Industrial Relations Commission (NIRC).
The federal government approved the appointment on Monday. Following the approval, the Ministry of Overseas Pakistanis and Human Development and Resources issued a formal notification.
Justice Roohul Amin will serve as NIRC chairman for a period of three years.
Justice Roohul Amin Takes Charge After Siddiqui’s Resignation
The appointment follows the resignation of Justice (retd) Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui.
His departure created a vacancy at the commission. Consequently, the government moved forward with the appointment of Justice Roohul Amin Khan.
The new chairman will now lead the National Industrial Relations Commission for the specified three-year term.
Formal Notification Issued
The ministry issued the notification after receiving approval from the federal government.
The notification formally confirms Justice Roohul Amin Khan’s appointment. It also sets his tenure at three years.
The development marks a change in the leadership of the NIRC. Justice Roohul Amin Khan previously served as a judge. He will now take on the responsibility of heading the commission.
The appointment comes as the commission moves into a new phase under its new chairman.
