The Lahore High Court has formally implemented the transport monetization policy across Punjab. The decision received approval from Chief Justice Aalia Neelum.
Under the new policy, judicial officers can purchase used official vehicles at fixed concessional prices. The initiative allows officers to choose and buy the vehicles currently available under the official transport system.
The High Court has also issued a formal procedure for purchasing these vehicles. This step aims to ensure a clear and organized process for all eligible judicial officers.
District Courts Receive Purchase Guidelines
The Lahore High Court has sent a memorandum to Sessions Judges across all districts of Punjab. The Directorate of District Judiciary issued the instructions to guide judicial officers through the vehicle purchase process.
According to the issued guidelines, officers interested in purchasing vehicles must complete their payments by July 20.
After making the payment, judicial officers must submit the required legal documents by July 22. The instructions ensure that all purchases follow the approved procedure.
Policy Introduces New Approach to Official Transport
The transport monetization policy allows judicial officers to own official vehicles instead of using them only through government arrangements.
The initiative is expected to simplify vehicle management and provide a structured system for handling official transport resources. Moreover, the fixed pricing mechanism aims to maintain transparency throughout the process.
The Lahore High Courtโs decision marks a significant administrative step toward implementing the policy across the province. Judicial officers who meet the requirements can now complete the purchase process within the announced timeline.
