ISLAMABAD: Traffic jam is expected in the capital city of Pakistan at evening today as Jamaat-e-Islami has announced its sit-ins at eight different locations in Islamabad from today evening.
JI Islamabad said its supporters will join sit-ins in Ghauri Town, Karachi Company, G-7/3, B-7, PWD and Bhara Kahu.
Moreover, protesters will gather at Jhungi Syedan and Lehtrar Road under the new schedule. The demonstrations will begin each evening and continue until late at night. The Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has expanded its anti-petrol levy campaign from Lahore to Islamabad as its ongoing sit-in enters a new phase.
The party announced fresh evening to night protests across the federal capital while continuing protest camps in Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar and Quetta.

According to the party, the strategy will help daily wage workers and traders participate after working hours.
Hafiz Naeem Rejects Talks on Protest
Meanwhile, JI chief Hafiz Naeemur Rehman said the Lahore sit-in would continue until the government abolishes the petroleum levy.
Addressing a press conference, he said the party would not negotiate over ending the protest. However, it could discuss measures to eliminate what he called an excessive levy.
Hafiz Naeem also criticised rising sugar and flour prices and accused influential groups of profiting from essential commodities.
The JI leader vowed to intensify the movement until authorities address the party’s demands.
At present, Jamaat-e-Islami is the only party in the country which has been holding demonstrations at different locations in the country against inflation and petroleum levy with the aim to provide relief to masses.
