Tensions across the Middle East remain high as diplomatic efforts continue to prevent renewed fighting between Iran, Israel and the United States.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said Tehran is discussing a proposal with Qatari mediators to reopen the Strait of Hormuz within two days. However, the plan depends on Washington accepting Iran’s conditions.
Iran Warns US and Israel Against Fresh Attacks
Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has ordered military commanders to prepare an immediate response to potential threats. He warned that any attack by the United States or Israel would trigger retaliation without geographical limitations.
Meanwhile, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said President Donald Trump had not decided whether to resume military strikes. He added that Washington remained open to a diplomatic solution.
Iran’s security chief Mohsen Rezaei also confirmed receiving a letter from US Vice President JD Vance. He described Washington’s changing tone as a positive sign for diplomatic engagement.
Strait of Hormuz Remains Major Concern
The strategically important Strait of Hormuz continues to face serious shipping disruptions. Iran has reported multiple incidents involving oil tankers striking naval mines in the waterway.
US Central Command has also reported redirecting 144 commercial vessels as part of its blockade of Iranian ports. Meanwhile, regional governments continue diplomatic efforts to prevent another escalation.
