Visitors planning a hike in Islamabad will face temporary restrictions on several Margalla Hills trails on Thursday.
The Islamabad district administration has ordered the closure of Trails 2, 3, 4 and 5 for August 13.
The trail located behind Saidpur Village will also remain closed throughout the day.
According to a notification issued by the Office of the District Magistrate, the closure will apply to the general public.
The administration has not stated a reason for the decision. Therefore, visitors should avoid planning trips to the affected trails on August 13.
Which Trails Will Remain Closed?
The closure covers five designated trail areas in the Margalla Hills.
These include:
- Trail 2
- Trail 3
- Trail 4
- Trail 5
- Trail behind Saidpur Village
The restrictions will remain in effect for the entire day on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the district administration has instructed relevant departments and authorities to ensure compliance with the order.
Authorities Directed to Enforce Closure
District Magistrate Islamabad Irfan Nawaz Memon issued the notification regarding the temporary closure.
Copies of the order were forwarded to several concerned offices and departments. These include the Chief Commissioner’s Office, Islamabad Police and the Capital Development Authority.
The Ministry of Interior and other relevant departments also received copies of the notification.
Furthermore, the CDA Directorate General of Environment and Islamabad Wildlife Management Board were directed to comply with the order.
The Islamabad Traffic Police and other police authorities were also asked to take necessary action.
Visitors Urged to Plan Accordingly
The administration has requested relevant authorities and the media to publicise the closure.
This step aims to ensure that visitors know about the restrictions before planning their trips. However, the notification does not provide a reason for closing the five trails.
Therefore, members of the public should take note of the temporary restriction and avoid visiting the affected areas on August 13.
The closure applies specifically to the five listed trail areas and will remain in place for the full day.
